"20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" in Seattle and Los Angeles

Stephin Merritt recently completed a live score to the rarely-screened 1916 silent film version of Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea." Originally commissioned by the San Francisco Film Society, the score will be performed live by Stephin Merritt, Daniel Handler, Johnny Blood, and David Hegarty on June 9 at The Seattle Film Festival and on July 11 at a special fundraiser for the Silent Film Theatre in Los Angeles.
